OUR COMMITTMENT MSI Marsdens abides by the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) established under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act, 2000. Our aim is to both support and ensure that we comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) that form the basis of laws introduced to strengthen privacy protection for the general public. MSI Marsdens recognises that our client's privacy and the confidentiality of their affairs is of paramount importance to them. We believe that this Privacy Policy addresses any potential concerns that our clients may have about how their personal information provided to us (or our representatives) is collected, held, used, corrected, disclosed and transferred.
COLLECTION As accountants and advisors to business our firm is subject to certain legislative and regulatory requirements that necessitate us obtaining and holding detailed information that personally identifies our clients and/or contains confidential or privileged information about them ("personal information").
In addition, our ability to provide them with a comprehensive taxation planning and business advisory service is often dependent on us obtaining this "personal information" about them.
USE AND DISCLOSURE Personal confidential information may only be disclosed to employees or subcontractors in order to complete an engagement, or for specific purposes.
No personal information is to be released in any form to any other party without prior written approval being provided directly from the client (or where the nature of the information is confidential to more than one client then written approval from each of the clients). It is a condition of our agreement with each of our employees and with all external contractors of MSI Marsdens, that they adopt and adhere to this Privacy Policy.
ACCURATE AND UP-TO-DATE MSI Marsdens aims to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. It is our clients' responsibility to inform us if their personal information is not correct.
SECURITY Associates, and employees, and contractors must at all times seek to ensure that personal information collected and held by us is protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure - whether by accident or by design. At all times personal or other sensitive information pertaining to a client is to be treated as highly confidential and be properly secured. Associates, employees, and contractors are to honour this commitment and care for all personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
ACCESS AND CORRECTION The clients of MSI Marsdens may at any time request access (in writing) to their personal information and we will (subject to certain exceptions) provide them with access to that information. Employees and External Contractors may only provide clients with specific access to personal information if they have been authorised to do so in writing by a Partner of MSI Marsdens.
